Russian Transport is a play about a contemporary transplanted Russian family living in Brooklyn, New York.
Erika Sheffer is a playwright and actor from Brooklyn, New York. Writing credits include Russian Transport (2010 Juilliard finalist), The Drowning Side, and Engaging Dynamic Guest Experience (a 2010 Finalist for The Estrogenius Festival). Her plays have been read at Primary Stages, The Actors Studio, and Personal Space Theatrics. She received a B.F.A in Drama from Syracuse University.
Portia Krieger’s recent NY directing credits include Too Little Too Late at HERE, Love Song in Two Voices at Ars Nova, in the Zone at Red Fern Theater, Pastries, Not Prozac at Joe’s Pub, The Parting Glass at Origin/59E59 as well as various projects with New Georges, Rattlestick, the Abingdon, EST/Youngblood, Origin, and Slant Theater Project. Regional: Love Song in Two Voices at the Huntington, The Lover, Please Stop Talking, Aria da Capo at Williamstown. Portia is a Resident Artist at Examined Man Theater, where she is writing and developing a new play currently titled The Real Wolf. Portia has assisted directors Michael Greif, Nicholas Martin, Henry Wishcamper, Sam Gold, Carolyn Cantor and Will Frears at Lincoln Center Theater, Roundabout, MTC, Williamstown, Atlantic, and MCC. Martin Snyder was born in Peru and grew up in Miami. He graduated from Columbia University with a degree in economics. Marty is a screenwriter (Missed Connections, Styrofoam Soul, The Game of Kings, Switch Hitter, The Yacht, Panchito, and Gordo Roy), playwright (Goose, Divorcing My Mother), and the co-owner of Gables Records. Marty is also involved with the Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts and Creative Capital. He lives in New York City.
José Zayas is originally from Puerto Rico. He holds a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University. Zayas is the Co-founder and Artistic Director of The Immediate Theater Company. Projects include: The House of the Spirits by Caridad Svich (Repertorio Espanol, 7 HOLA awards), Okay by Taylor Mac (Ensemble Studio Theatre), Nowhere on the Border by Carlos Lacamara (5 ACE awards), Madre: El Drama Padre by Enrique Jardiel Poncela (2 ACE Awards), Southern Promises (PS122) and Strom Thurmond is Not a Racist/Cleansed (Brick Theater) by Thomas Bradshaw. Duncan Sheik is a Grammy and Tony winning singer-songwriter and composer. Sheik initially found success as a singer, most notably for his 1996 debut single Barely Breathing. Years later, he expanded his work to include compositions for motion pictures and the Broadway stage, leading him to involvement in the multiple award-winning musical Spring Awakening.
