PlayDates is Woodshed’s monthly reading series. The purpose of these “dates” are to expand our community of collaborators and bring new actors, writers, and directors into our extended family. These readings manifest in multiple ways, from the traditional model of performing new scripts on book to less defined interactions with unfamiliar artists and texts. While we are a theater company and principally focus on plays, we are also interested in the variety of possibilities a reading format can encompass: from musicians bringing in songs to writers bringing in plays or excerpts of novels to choreographers sharing dance pieces. These readings are different from workshop readings of pieces we are developing, and serve to maintain the artistic vitality of the company through interactions with new artists in the wider theatrical community.

All readings are open to the public unless otherwise indicated.  If you wish to attend, please contact Jocelyn.

NOTE: Due to a technical glitch, months indicated may not be the actual month a reading is being presented. Please click on ‘details’ to confirm the date of the most recent reading being presented.
